Follow these steps to change your power plan:
- Select the Start button.
- Type Choose a power plan and select it from the results.
- Make sure the Balanced option is selected.
- Or for maximum battery life, select Power saver.
- Avoid High performance unless necessary.
- To customize your power plan for when you are plugged in or when you are using a battery, select Change plan settings.
- For more advanced power options, select Change advanced power settings.
- Select Save changes to update your power plan.
- Close any applications on the desktop not in use.
- Use the brightness function keys on your notebook to dim your screen.
- Disconnect any external devices when you are not using them.
- Turn Wi-Fi and Bluetooth features off when you are not using them.
- Once a month, run a battery check with HP Support Assistant.
- Calibrate the notebook battery every two to three months.
- Fully charge the battery. Then unplug the power cord.
- Use the computer until the battery is completely drained of power and the notebook turns off to complete the calibration.
- If you don’t plan on using your notebook for more three months, charge the notebook battery to at least seventy percent.
- For notebooks with removable batteries, completely remove the battery and store it.
- For notebooks with embedded batteries, store the entire notebook.
- Re-adjust your power settings on a regular basis to get the most life out of your notebook battery.

Follow these steps to restore Windows when Windows cannot start normally:
- Shut down the computer, or, press and hold the Power button until the computer shuts off.
- After a few seconds, turn the computer back on, and then press the F11 key repeatedly to open the Advanced Startup Options menu.
- If prompted, choose your Language, and keyboard layout.
- Select Troubleshoot, Advanced options, and then System Restore.
- Choose an account and if prompted, enter the account password.
- Select Continue to open System Restore.
- Select Next, and then choose a restore point from a time when Windows started normally.
- To view all available, restore points, select the check box next to Show more restore points, and then make a selection from the list.
- Any programs that were added since the last restore point will be deleted and any that were removed will be restored.
- To view the programs and drivers affected, select Scan for affected programs.
- Take note of any programs that you might want to reinstall or uninstall after the recovery completes, and then select Close.
- Select Next, confirm the restore point, and then select Finish.
- Since System Restore cannot be interrupted, do not proceed without having enough time to perform the restoration.
- If you are restoring an HP notebook, plug in the power cord directly in the computer.
- Select Yes in the prompt to initiate the restoration process.
- Follow any prompts to finalize the restore and return to Windows.

Follow these steps to reset Windows 10 when your HP computer does not boot:
- Turn on your computer, and press the F11 key repeatedly until the Choose an option screen displays.
- Select Troubleshoot, and then select Reset this PC.
- If you have files on the computer, select Keep my files, to retain your personal files which will be available after the reset.
- Select Remove everything, if you have tried resetting Windows previously and still encountered issues
- If your computer has multiple drives or partitions, a window displays asking if you want to remove files from all drives or only the drive where Windows is installed.
- Select your desired option to continue.
- If after resetting the computer you plan on donating it or giving it to someone else, select Fully clean the drive.
- This removes your personal data in a way that the files cannot be recovered easily by the next user.
- If you plan to continue using the computer, select Just remove my files.
- With all options set, select Reset to reinstall Windows.
- With the reset complete and initial settings configured, reinstall any applications you need on your computer.

Follow these steps to program Macro Keys on HP OMEN Gaming PCs:
- From Start or the Windows taskbar, open OMEN Command Center.
- Click Macros, and then select the macro key grouping you want to modify.
- Next to the Macro key you want to program, click the drop-down menu, and then click Create new.
- Enter a name and then choose a delay option.
- Choose Recorded Delay to time the macro the same as when you record it.
- Choose a Fixed Delay to set a static amount of time in between each action.
- Or choose No Delay to have the macro run all at once in sequential order.
- Click Record to begin programming your custom macro.
- On your keyboard, press each key to record in the order desired.
- Click Stop to end recording the sequence and then edit any keypresses or delays that need adjusting.
- With the sequence edited the way you want it, click Save and the macro is saved and assigned to your selected macro key.
- Repeat these steps to continue assigning a macro to any of the desired macro keys.
- As you create new macros, they are added to a list stored next to the macro key list.
- Edit an existing macro by clicking the pen and paper icon next to the macro name, or delete it by clicking the red X.

- From Start or the Windows taskbar, open OMEN Command Center.
- Click Lighting and then choose the area or zone you want to customize.
- From the Mode section, the available lighting methods or styles display for the chosen zone.
- For example, if you chose the keyboard zone, the available modes can be Animation, Static, and Off.
- Click Off to dim all lighting for the zone.
- Click Static to assign single colors to specific areas of the keyboard.

Follow these steps to connect and use the HP ZBook x2 detachable keyboard:
-Position the tablet over the alignment posts on the keyboard and set it down.
-The keyboard attaches to the tablet automatically and is held in place.
-Now pair the tablet and keyboard.
-At the prompt, select Pair and then with the pairing successful, select Close.
-To transport the ZBook, close the kickstand and flip the keyboard with the keys facing the tablet screen.
-The mouse and keyboard will not respond while in this position.
-To detach the keyboard, just pull the tablet and keyboard apart.
-When you want to use your ZBook as a computer, extend the kickstand.

Follow these steps if automatic pairing is unsuccessful, pairing fails, or you want to connect the keyboard using Bluetooth:
-Detach the tablet from the keyboard.
-Select Start, then use the touchscreen keyboard to type Bluetooth in the search box.
-Select Bluetooth and other devices settings.
-Enable Bluetooth.
-Press and hold the Keyboard button until it blinks blue.
-Select Add Bluetooth or other device, then Bluetooth, and then HP ZBook x2 Bluetooth Keyboard.
-Type the PIN shown and then press Enter to connect the keyboard and tablet.
-Charge the keyboard while detached with a micro USB cable.
-With these different configurations, use the ZBook x2 as a tablet or a computer.
